Linkin Park - Iridescent

If my life had a theme song, this would be it.

Its called 'Iridescent' by Linkin Park. Its a very beautiful song. I listen to it when I'm sad, it makes me feel optimistic again. The song starts out quite depressing, but at the chorus it becomes hopeful. Even the lyrics speak to me. My favourite part is when many voices (multiple voices) sing the chorus. Its so beautiful.

When you were standing in the wake of devastation
when you were waiting on the edge of the unknown
with the cataclysm raining down, insides crying save me now
you were there and possibly alone.

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

And in the burst of light that blinded every angel
as if the sky had blown the heavens into stars
you felt the gravity of temper grace falling into empty space
no one there to catch you in there arms

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

(Multiple Voices)
Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go,

let it go
let it go
let it go
let it go

Do you feel cold and lost in desperation
you build up all the failure's all you've known
remember all the sadness and frustration
and let it go, let it go.

Go Fly A Kite Then Take A Hike

If you have been following Malaysian news as I have, you probably would have heard of the term 'Obedient Wives Club'. Generating quite an amount of controversy, the Obedient Wives Club was set up by a group of Malay women supposedly to, and I quote *cure social ills such as prostitution and divorce by teaching women to be submissive and keep their men happy in the bedroom*.

    IT.IS.DISGUSTING.

I mean really, in a modern and fairly well developed country, we have crap like this dominating our front pages. The club's president, Rohaya Mohamed, said "A man married to a woman who is as good or better than a prostitute in bed has no reason to stray. Rather than allowing him to sin, a woman must do all she can to ensure his desires are met,"

So, what she's trying to say is that women who aren't good in bed are the main reason husbands run off with mistresses, prostitution is on the rise, and these women are ALLOWING, their husbands to continue sinning. May I quote again, Indirectly, "disobedient wives are the cause for upheaval in this world" because men are not happy at home and their minds and souls are disturbed, she said.

How much more backwards could she have said it? She, Rohaya Mohamed, is a disgrace to hardworking, wives and women around the world. What about the women who are the sole breadwinners of the family? Are they disobedient wives just because they don't do as well in the sack? In her twisted point of view, are the role of wives so menial in a family, that all she needs to do is bang her husband really really really well?

And what about the husbands? Are muslim husbands so frivolous in their marriage, that if their wives cant give them a proper f***, they instantly run off with the next woman they see? I'm sorry, but I thought that marriages were based on understanding and trust that have to come from BOTH people, not how well you do in bed.

This unfortunate woman has not got a clue about what makes a marriage stick, although I cant say that I'm an expert in this department, I do know for a fact that alluring smiles and sexy dressing is not it. Women should NOT lower themselves and crouch down to fit their partners wants. I know it sounds really feminist of me, but women are not there to cook, clean and procreate anymore, there's so much more to it.

"The woman who appeals to a man's vanity may stimulate him, the woman who appeals to his heart may attract him, but it is the woman who appeals to his imagination who gets him" ~ Helen Rowland

R.I.P. 143

I stand here this morning,
Strong and resolute,
For here lies the love we once shared,
Dimly lit and almost out,
Finally,
It has fallen.

The last piece of my jigsaw puzzle heart has been returned,
Ive finally got a firm grip on it,
No longer is it under the sea,
Or locked away in a chest,
It is here,
With me.

What a fickle friend you've been thus far,
Coming and leaving as and when you please,
Expecting me to be waiting when you arrive,
Well no more dear,
No more.

Its like the 'Escape From Alcatraz',
Ive done it,
Your gravity,
No longer pulling,
Your smile,
No longer bewitching,
Your words,
No longer charming,
I am free,
I am finally free.

R.I.P. 143  :)

'My Favourite Things' from 'The Sound Of Music'

Ive been feeling extremely hyper today! I don't know why, maybe its because I have another week of holidays left, (I'm going to come back to this post next week and CRY). Ive gone out ALOT this week, its nice, I don't usually go out. I managed to fit in a ZILLION (that's what it felt like) movies this week, and Ive done absolutely NO studying, revision and homework whatsoever. I seriously think Ive forgotten how to write.... hmm.... I saw 'Pirates 4', 'Fast 5', 'Kung Fu Panda 2', 'X Men First Class', twice (James McAvoy IS HOT!!!), 'Toy Story 1', and 'You've Got Mail'.

Ive made up this list in my head, and Ive been thinking about it all week. So here it is,

* Favourite Romantic Comedy - You've Got Mail (I was 'ooohhhhh-ing' and 'ahhhh-ing' and 'awwww-ing' all through the movie! It was SOOO SWEET!!)

* Favourite Sad/Depressing Movie - Wow, Ive got LOADS of these, erm... Pearl Harbour,   Slumdog Millionaire, Hachiko, and The Time Traveller's Wife (I also cried when I read the book)

* Favourite Action Movie - Mr and Mrs Smith (is this under 'Action'? I'm not sure...)

* Favourite Male Singer - Need I say it again? MICHAEL BUBLE!!

* Favourite Female Singer - Alicia Keys

* Favourite Actor - James McAvoy!! (Oh MY GOD, he's so hot I cant breathe sometimes!)

James McAvoy from the movie 'Wanted' (OH.MY.GOD.)
* Favourite Actress - Meg Ryan! (She's so sweet and not like all the other sluts out there!)

* Favourite Musical - Hairspray!! (There were two, and I prefer the more recent version)

* Favourite TV Series - F.R.I.E.N.D.S (Chandler and Monica are my favourite couple!)

* Favourite TV Cartoon Series - SpongeBob SquarePants!

* Favourite Author - I cant choose....its either J.K. Rowling or Mitch Albom....

* Favourite Band - The Script!

* Favourite When-I-Go-To-A-Chinese-Shop-What-Do-I-Drink-Drink- - Chinese Tea! And none of that herbal crap or Jasmine Tea mind you.

* Favourite Composer - Fryderyk Chopin (He's a little EMo, but I like that!)

* Favourite Person On The Planet - YOU! ........... ME

Well, that's it, Ive run out of favourite things. Also, tea has just been made and I NEED to go have a cup. I cant resist, its just a thing. One last thing, this post has been titled as such because 'My Favourite Things' is a song from the musical 'The Sound Of Music' (its my gramma's favourite movie in the world) which I love, dearly. That's it for now!

BYE! XD

Are You My Wonderwall?

I love this song! Its called 'Wonderwall' by Oasis. But this is a cover by 'Boyce Avenue'. They're my new favourite band!  Michael Buble is STILL my favourite of ALL TIME, but Boyce Avenue's quite cool too!

I was listening to this song and dancing just now, when the lyrics 'CLICKED', like the glowing light bulb in the cartoons. Its really describing my life right now. Not the whole song, just some parts. Like this,

And all the roads we have to walk are winding
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding
There are many things that I would like to say to you
But I don’t know how
Because maybe
You’re gonna be the one that saves me
And after all
You’re my wonderwall

I'm just happy right now. I'm really happy. I know its not perfect, far from it in fact. But, its better than before. WAAAYYYY better than my previous predicament. I think Ive finally moved on. I don't think its denial anymore. This is genuine. This is real. And I hope it stays.

But if we stay,
Or if we part,
One thing is for sure,
I'm happy,
I'm finally happy,
And if you're reading this,
You know who you are. ;)

The Ballerina In My Head.....

This is a very elegant piece by composer Camille Saint Saens called 'The Swan'. This piano cover is beautiful by itself, but I think it would sound better if the accompaniment was played with a piano and the main melody, a cello.

A cello player
Anyway, its a very smooth, flowing piece. There are lots of feelings that S. Saens managed to put into it. I personally love the part where the major suddenly morphs into a minor, it becomes soft and dark. About 2 seconds later, the piece shifts back to a major, like nothing went wrong. Towards the end of the piece, its reverts back to the original melody. Its a brilliant composition. It radiates complex feelings in 1 minute 54 seconds. Only music can do that.

Whenever I play this song, (a much easier version though) I imagine myself in a decorated, empty concert hall. On the stage, stands a lone baby grand piano (black of course).

So I come in, sit down and begin to play. Then, (remember, this is happening only in my head!) a ballerina comes out from behind the curtain. She starts to dance slowly, following the rhythm of the music. She executes a perfect arabesque at 0.12 - 0.14

This is an arabesque

Then, at 0.21 - 0.32, she is leaping across the stage, this is where the songs turns into a minor. Its getting dark, scary, she's losing her way.

She leaps!

Before all the light can go out, the piece turns back into a major. She's found her way. Joy sounds throughout the hall. Towards the end, she follows timing meticulously, and dances en pointe around the piano.
Before the last note is hit, she disappears.
Dancing en pointe

I get up and leave the stage. The hall is empty once more.

Music On The Wall

Holidays have ARRIVED!! Thank God. I got back some of my results... Bio, 72, which is not bad considering I got 35 the last time! I did the Victory DANCE all around class when I got my results. It.was.epic. !!!!!  OK no, just kidding. Id like to think people were laughing WITH me instead of AT me. Oh well.

Ive just discovered a NEW (OK well, new for me la) branch of music.... (wait for it) HIP HOP VIOLIN. Before this, I didn't really like the violin. Why? Well cause

1. They make a terribly screechy sound when you don't play it right.
2. Violins HURT their owners!

Unlike the violin, the piano DOES NOT GO OFF KEY if you tune it every six months and MOST IMPORTANTLY, piano's are not out to MURDER their owners. This guy, JOSH VIETTI, is a street performer. He plays Hip Hop violin. Its AWESOME! I mean bloody brilliant!

On another note, PIANO EXAMS  *the beginning of Beethoven's 5th Symphony starts to play*.  Evil, evil, evil Piano exams are upon me again. Grade 5 is a royal pain in the ass. And mind you, its theory AND practical in August. Grade 5 has Italian, French AND German terms!! WTH?!?!  Ive pasted the terms on my wall. The idea is to memorize a term a day. There are about 130 terms. Ive got 2 terms memorized so far...... Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day....or some inspirational thing like that.

Music on the wall

Grade 1 & 2 have only Italian Terms *THANK GOD*

Grade 5 German!

Grade 4 Italian Terms and Signs. G4 also has FRENCH!

Grade 4 whatever la....

Oh, the things I do for music.....  XD

I Failed......Again

Crap.

This is the ONLY word I could find that could perfectly describe the horrible day Ive had. I FAILED two papers IN A ROW. Add maths (just like I expected) and Sejarah. You know, saying that I'm gonna fail and ACTUALLY failing are two very different things. They feel different. I certainly did not expect to fail Sejarah, but then again, I did not expect an A for Modern Maths.

Yap was kind enough NOT to write an 'F' on MY paper

That's odd... My Paper Looks ALOT like this one!
Do I really need a caption for this one?
OH! Don't forget I failed Sejarah too

This is the end result

And another thing..... That idiot. Bloody orange. How dare he call himself yellow. He doesn't have that privilege. I like to hurt him, like with a chair, or a sharp, shiny thing.

'Mr Plum killed him in the kitchen with a candlestick!'

*......erm...OK....Weird Cluedo moment over*  He's such an ass. Id really love to cause him some pain.... Like this....

I could SO use Homer's help

What could be better than EVIL Spongebob?!

And Of Course.... STEWIE!!
This picture is just so adorable! I had to put it in!

Unreachable

As I sit here,
Its dark as night,
I think only of you,
In fact,
Aren't we in mid speech,
Why do you make me wait?
Quickly.
I'm on the other side.

As I sit here,
A lady in waiting,
I wish on a falling star,
That maybe,
You'd tell me,
Maybe you'd confess,
Maybe you'd say what I have no courage to,
For dear, after all that's happened,
My heart is still fragile,
Like broken glass,
You need to be careful when stepping around me.

But I'm afraid,
Afraid it'll ruin what we have now,
Right now,
It may not be perfect,
But dear,
Its pretty damn close.

Perhaps in time,
I'll find the right words,
I'll get the right time,
I'll obtain the perfect moment,
And say it.

But really,
Who am I kidding?

Ive Converted, Im now a Bublist

People, (yes, that means you), Ive said it once before and I will say it again,

I LOVE MICHAEL BUBLE.

The man can sing gibberish and I would still adore him! HE made the 'Spiderman Theme Song' sound sexy!  HE is the reason Canada is HOT! (For those unfortunate souls who don't know, MB is from Canada).  HE plays a big part in my love for jazz! HE helped me rediscover Sinatra! And come on, lets face it, HE's just so damn hot!

Yes, he IS married (to some 24 year old TWIT!) but hey, what's divorce for? XD XP

I had nothing to do while I was doing add maths

STILL nothing to do while doing add maths

How could you not LOVE him in this suit! And LOOK at his GORGEOUS smile!

I HAVE THIS ALBUM!!
His voice can HEAL PEOPLE!!

PHYSICs - ALLY CHALLENGED

I have been a laying around like a sack of LAZY this whole day. My body REFUSED to do what my mind said.

Mind : GET UP! Time for Sunday school!
Body : Shut UP! *falls back to sleep*

Mind : Pay Attention! She's teaching!
Body : I've finally learnt to sleep with my eyes open! *falls back to sleep*

Mind : Come on, time to practice piano!
Body : *Pretends not to hear and remains eerily still*

So, you can see what kind of a predicament I'm in. Ive got alot of Inertia today.

Inertia is defined as the ability to resist change and remain constant.

So I have been inertia - ing the whole damn day. Ive done NOTHING productive this whole day. Ive been resisting change in every possible way and remaining in my constant state of high-ness.

On the upside, Ive joined kawat and I find it to be pretty damn fun. Ive never done it before and its rather exciting. I feel like I belong. Getting horribly sun burnt, is an unfortunate side effect. Maybe I should bring sunblock! YES! THAT'S THE KEY! Its not like I need ANYMORE colour right now.  Thank God for SUNBLOCK!! weeeeeeee!!

Ive got nothing more to report for this week. I'll blog when something interesting happens. Peace XD!

The Element Of Freedom

THANK YOU LORD! The exams are FINALLY finished! weeeee!! Freedom is MINE! I can just taste it! I'm refusing to think about the results, let alone open day, so I'm going to just relish in the moment! The last paper was Chemistry. Paper 2 was OK, but the calculations in Paper 1 was screwed up la! But, to DATE, the worst paper would have to be the most wonderful, ADD MATHS. I left TWO whole pages of log questions, BLANK! *dum dum dum dum!!* Its a guaranteed fail.

Go to fullsize image

But Bio went OKAY (only cause I actually studied for it, unlike add maths) .... So I'd like to get my results fast!

Trying to study BIO!

An attempt at Add Maths

There, now I have evidence that some work was actually done!

Now, moving on to more pressing matters, Pirates Of The Caribbean 4 is OUT! I MUST catch it!

Don't you just LOVE Johnny Depp?

No?

Well, I DO!

Now off to watch re-runs of Glee!

Peace XD!

9 Things I Like To Do In The Shower

You know how most people like to stand in the shower and bathe? Well, I don't. I DO still bathe in the shower, but I do alot of other things at the same time. I MULTITASK! Its the job requirement of the future, so I figure I'd start now!

     I like to :

1. Think about my life and other crap like that
    - I once thought up a 7 stanza poem in my head, in the shower

2. Sing! (off key)
    - My somewhat melodious tunes are usually Michael Buble

3. Talk
    - To myself of course!

4. Listen to music
    - The music comes from my handphone, which is perched on a chair, far, far, FAR away  from the water

If I don't have my handphone, then I.....

5. Listen to the music in my head
    - Its like Hitz.fm up there

When I'm feeling sad, I......

6. Cry
   - So that I cant tell the difference between my tears and the water

7. Worry about all the things I have to do when I get OUT of the shower

8. Wish I had a bathtub

And my personal favourite.....

9. Dance!
   - To whatever music and whatever rhythm

Peace XD

Man Bai - Kau Ilham Ku

Please DON'T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS as soon as you see Melayu di atas ya... Normally, I would be the first one to criticize and brush aside any trace of BM music. I don't watch, listen to or tolerate the people, the language and the culture.  BUT, I do love good music, and this song is QUITE GOOD. One of the better lagu Melayu.  I love the chorus!

Izinkan ku mencuri bayangan wajah mu,
Izinkan ku mencuri khayalan dengan mu,

Tales Of A Love Long Lost

I hate you,
Do you know that?
I hate you so much,
I will refrain from spewing profanity,
But its eating through my last reserves of will power.

You make my blood boil and my temperature drop,
You make my motor functions halt,
And I get this tingly feeling in my toes,
You make me lose all my self respect,
And when I catch your eye,
I lose my breath.

Its been two years,
What's wrong with me?
I wish you'd just move away,
Or maybe break a leg (literally)
I wish you the fire from Dante's hell,
And the wrath from Satan and Lucifer who live up the road.

For it is only because of you,
That now,
My brain governs my heart,
And not the other way around.

Praise God, The Internet Is Back!

'Osama bin Laden was shot and killed by US CIA agent' and the Malaysian news have a smoking orang utan on the front cover. Way to go Malaysian publications. (I wouldn't push the limit so as to call you a 'newspaper' because that would mean that you actually print news)

.......... *short pause*.........Well, Its GOOD to be back!

My social self has been resurrected and new life has been granted upon my lowly self..... THE INTERNET IS BACK!! A lightning bolt struck my house....TWICE.... and fried EVERYTHING. The TV, the Internet, Astro. Seven days and seven nights without the Internet.... I thought I would have shrivelled up and died in a corner somewhere, but 'The Time Traveler's Wife' kept me company! Speaking of which..... HENRY IS GOING TO DIE!! NOO!!! He cant die, cause then he'd leave Clare and Alba all alone! I cant take it! I'll finish the book and tell you exactly how he dies.
After 'The Time Traveler's Wife', I'll start on 'The Lincoln Lawyer'. Mummy says its a good book.... We'll see lah.

Can You believe it.....exams are around the freaking corner.....AGAIN. I mean, we just had exams in April and now they want summore exams. Haiyo. Bio until Chapter 4 - Freaking Chemical Composition of the Freaking Cell. Chem until Chapter 4 - The Freaking Periodic Table (Until Group 18...Thank GOD!). Physics - GOT freaking PAPER 3. Moral - 2 bloody bidang coming out also. Shoot me la....

AND ANOTHER THING.... the music exams - Practical AND Theory in August. 3 freaking songs, plus scales (oh God) plus arpeggios plus singing and clapping and what not. My first song, 'Air' - I'm having so much trouble keeping tempo and flow... DAMN YOU BACH!!

Oh well, I just wanted to announce the revival of my Internet to the world. I'll blog the next I can. Peace. XD

'Oh, These Times Are Hard. Yeah They're Makin Us Crazy, Dont Give Up On Me Baby'

I love The Script, they write music about life, love and rejection. Their music really speaks to me. This is a piano cover of the song  'For The First Time' by The Script. The actual song does not sound quite as sad as this piano cover. When I first heard it, it brought back memories of this dark place in my life that I never really got over.

It was a few years ago, I was severely depressed. I couldn't eat, sleep, or even think properly. I remember alot of crying. That was all I did, just cry. Cry to sleep, cry to get up, cry in the shower. I was in a bad mood all the time and I didn't feel like doing anything at anytime. It was so bad that I can still remember the smell of the soap that I was using during that time. I now associate that smell with feeling depressed. I have since, stopped purchasing that soap.

   View Image

That period of depression really changed me. In good ways and bad. I'm now, much more optimistic about life and its outcome. Granted, I'm not a flaming bright ball of fun and joy, but I appreciate more, I live in the present, instead of trying to go back to an irreversible past to change it, and most importantly, I love more.

  Close your eyes
   Take a deep breath
   Its gonna be okay

          Peace.

I Admit

Are you afraid?
Afraid of spiders?
Afraid of the dark?
Afraid of heights?

What about imperfection?
What about failure?
What about incompetence?
Are you afraid of these?

I am

Afraid of knowing that I'm not good enough,
Afraid of knowing that I'll never be good enough,
Afraid of always being second best.

Doubt,
In confidence,
Self loathing,
Been there,
Done that.

I'm scared,
I'm lost,
Help me find my way out,
Help me get out of my own head.

Help.

'Defeat never comes to any man until he admits it.'
I admit.

A Letter To Add Maths

Dear Add Maths,
Why do you torment me so?
Cant you just leave me alone?
Don't you see that I just don't want to be told,
To find your x,
To get the relation,
To even understand what a quadratic function with a minimum point and y-intercept is,
Stop bossing me around or
I'll set you on fire,
Literally.

                                                                                                      Yours truly,

Glee - Trouty Mouth

Naya Rivera is amazing. FIRST, her voice is fantastic! SECOND, she sang THIS song with a straight face. Woah man.

Santana: This is a song that I wrote for Sam, its called trouty mouth
Sam: Wait, what's its called
Mike: Trouty mouth

Here are the lyrics so you really understand what she's saying
Guppy face, trouty mouth
Is that how people’s lips look where you come from in the South?

Grouper mouth, froggy lips
I love suckin’ on those salamander lips

Wanna put a fish hook in those lips so cherry red
If you tried hard enough you could suck a baby’s head
